In
the picture on the right we can see how the aquatic dye, after ten minutes from
application, is starting to spread throughout the pond. What was once a dull brown
color is quickly being turned into a more natural blue. In a few more minutes
the entire pond will be a uniform shade of blue making it much more appealing
to swimmers and anyone who prefers to see blue water in the pond.
Ideal
for occasions when having a blue pond is essential; i.e.: wedding pictures, bar-b-ques
and family gatherings or when young children want to swim but don't like the brown
or green water.
But adding BlueZyme is more than aesthetic! The colorant
filters out the blue spectrum of light and this reduction in sunlight will greatly
improve the general quality of the water; there will be less chance for bottom
sediments to be reached by sunlight thus inhibiting algae blooms.
Algae
forms due when conditions are just right which include the right mixture of temperature,
nutrients and sunlight. By using an aquatic dye you reduce the penetration strength
of sunlight and this can assist in reducing green water and algae growth; not
only that the addition of BlueZyme will instantly add a beautiful shade
of blue to the pond or lake which can be a relief if the pond is brown or green.
This
aquatic dye also contains beneficial enzymes that assist in degrading organic
materials and sludge in the pond which can be one of the factors that cause algae
to grow. Beyond being a simple aesthetic enhancement to the water body the use
of BlueZyme provides the benefits of microbial enzymes to accelerate the cleanup
of the pond.
Often after a single treatment the water, previously green
from phytoplankton, will be cleared up dramatically as the lack of sunlight causes
the tiny plankton to die. Adding beneficial bacteria like Bacterius 1B alongside
the aquatic colorant is also a good idea because the Bacterius 1B will help consume
the bottom muck.
Adding
BlueZyme
or aquatic dyes & colorants Most
pond dyes are highly concentrated mixtures that appear almost black when being
poured into the water. This allows for treatments of large areas with fairly small
quantities. BlueZyme can be added from a boat by slowing pouring the desired amount
near the aeration diffusers to aid to mixing the pond dye quickly throughout the
pond. It can also be added by simply walking around the pond and putting some
in equally around the parameter.
Typical applications are 1 gallon per
surface acre 4 feet deep but more can be added to obtain the desired shade of
blue. We typically see two to three gallons in a 1 acre pond and sometimes up
to five. Depending on the springs in your pond and the rainfall the dye can remain
in the pond casting a blue color for up to 6 weeks. CAUTION:
Aquatic
dyes are concentrated and will stain clothing and skin if contact is made of undiluted
liquid. Splashing dyes can stain rocks and skin; this is not harmful but care
should be taken when applying the colorant. Gloves are recommended.
BlueZyme
is available in gallon jugs or larger 5 gallon pails.
BlueZyme
is biodegradable, nonpathogenic and nontoxic.. It is safe for birds, fish, humans
and all aquatic life. There are no restrictions on swimming, irrigation or fishing.
Allow several hours for complete mixing and the color to be established before
adding a second treatment.
