Linear Bubble Aeration
Aerating shallow ponds & more

Bubble Tubing Applications | Bubble Tubing Specifications | Handling & Maintenance

Gentle Bubbles in a Canadian Pond installation featuring Bubble Tubing.Bubble Tubing is the ideal air diffuser for shallow lakes and ponds but using such diffuser tubing is not only limited to shallow water applications; in fact the aeration diffuser tubing can be used in virtually any situation where discs or airstones may not be desired and in small or large ponds or basins.

This picture shows a long 200 foot length of Bubble Tubing running in a shallow canal area where the current flows lightly over the rising bubbles and spreads much needed aeration throught the lake further downstream. The circulation created by the rising bubbles is also instrumental in ensuring that muck levels are reduced and floating algae does not form on stagnating waters.

Bubble Tubing, being flexible and self sinking, is easier to get into a pond that discs or multi-disc assemblies which need weights or have plastic bases that must be filled with stones. Bubble Tubing can be tossed into smaller ponds or fed off the back of a boat in larger ponds or even be hooked to guide ropes and pulled into position making it one of the most trouble-free diffuser systems available.

The "Bubble Snake"
Easier than airstones or discs! Cheaper than AirStations!
Self-weighted 1/2" diffuser hose.
Perfect for tanks, ponds, lakes...anywhere where a self sinking diffuser is needed. No weights required. Operating range is from 0.05 CFM - 0.15 CFM per foot. Operating pressure from 5 - 50 PSI.

The Bubble Snake This length of flexible self-sinking bubble tubing comes equipped with a 1/2" connector and a plug in one end so it's ready to be attached to your self-sinking tubing and set into the pond or water garden. The Bubble Snake is easy to move from place to place so you can add aeration to hard to reach areas.
5' Bubble Snake™ - $55
10' Bubble Snake™ - $100
20' Bubble Snake™ - $180

All lengths include appropriate hardware and connectors. Ready to use. Call 450-243-0976 to order.

Linear Aeration System This graphic shows a typical setup of a properly designed linear aeration system. In shallow ponds, or even in any pond for that matter, using lengths of Bubble Tubing will allow you to add gentle rising bubbles over a larger area or in specific patterns or shapes due to the flexibility of Bubble Tubing.

While disc diffusers or airstones can be very desirable in deeper ponds and lakes there is often a misconception as to the effectiveness of discs, especially the various multiple-disc assemblies on the market. In shallow conditions, discs and airstones to to act like a coarse bubbler sputtering large foaming splashes on the surface.

Using Bubble Tubing allows for quick and easy application of aeration and circulation into any pond, especially shallow basins.

CanadianPond.ca Products Ltd. has a variety of compleate linear aeration systems or we can supply you with the Bubble Tubing to retrofit your existing system. Contact us for an evaluation.

Bubble Tubing linear aeration.

A variety of cabinets. The linear aeration systems include of flexible Bubble Tubing with all the required clamps and connectors. The system is powered by a single compressor or multiple compressors. The compressor system is housed in a rugged aluminum or stainless steel ventilated housing (several models available) which includes GFI protection on all circuitry and powerful ventilation fans to maintain proper cooling to prolong the life of the system. The cabinets are lockable and mounted on a sturdy ground pad.

This system allows one or multiple lengths of Bubble Tubing to be placed in the pond or dugout. The flexible Bubble Tubing can be placed into critical areas or simply laid on the bottom in a circle or straight line. Bubble Tubing should be placed in fairly constant depths as large fluctuations in depth can cause reductions in flow along the tubing.

Bubble Tubing™ is a new Canadian-made self-sinking flexible fine-bubble diffuser tubing available in 1/2"and 3/4" airline sizes. Bubble Tubing can be used industrial applications including mining and aquaculture the unique tubing is also for aerating ponds, water-gardens, long narrow waterways, and wherever a bottom mounted diffusion assembly is not desired or appropriate.

The 1/2" Bubble Tubing can be run in continuous lengths of 200 feet and the 3/4" Bubble Tubing can be run in lengths of 800 feet.

The Bubble Ring
Using Bubble Tubing can also mean adding a dramatic visual impact to your pond. This picture shows a pond using a custom sized aerator. The circle of bubbles on the surface are from a 40 foot length of Bubble Tubing placed in a circle in a 4 foot deep pond. A small linear compressor silently feeds air to the Bubble Tubing and provides reliable clean air into the pond to circulate and aerate the water.

Benefits & Advantages
Why linear aeration using Bubble Tubing is best

But why use a linear aeration featuring Bubble Tubing? Instead of having bubbles concentrated in the 9" or 12" space of the diffuser disc you spread out the small air release holes down a linear line of 100 feet or more. The flexible tubing can be placed in large circles or soft curves to fit into hard to reach areas to provide aeration in more places at once, something a single disc simply cannot do!

But linear aeration is not limited to shallow ponds and dugouts. Large lakes often use multiple lines of Bubble Tubing not to mention the traditional uses in water treatment plants and shrimp aeration projects where long lengths of air tubing are required to aerate large flat bottomed basins.

Why Linear Aeration with Bubble Tubing Works
Bubble Tubing set in the bottom of a shallow pond will mix water with more efficacy because the tiny diffuser holes on the tubing, spaced 4 per inch, are spread out over a larger area than when using a single disc or discs. Running a single line or multiple lines of tubing allows for greater dispersion of bubbles throughout the pond and enables a larger area to be treated with beneficial circulation and oxygenation.

Using Bubble Tubing is easier than discs or airstones because it is self sinking and flexible so there are no weights to attach, bases to fill, or plumbing parts to break. Simply uncoil it from the back of your boat without the need for weights or heavy bases full of gravel.

Rising bubbles from the Bubble Tubing are gentler than the frothing splash of discs or airstones and because the Bubble Tubing can run in long lengths it can get quality aeration into vast areas.

Homogeneous bubble movement along the Bubble Tubing line(s) ensure an even mixing and gentle circulation action. The pond surface remains calmer and the mixing and circulation is more efficient and extensive.

Why Diffuser Discs & Airstones Don't Work in Shallow Ponds or Canals
Using traditional forms of diffuser discs in shallow ponds can be less efficient as the rising bubbles are so closely concentrated that there is little rising lifting action that can occur before they splash at the surface. The aeration is less effective and the surface of the water is in a constant state of aggressive agitation.

At greater depths the disc or airstone type diffuser is highly effective but in shallow waters the resulting circulation is overly concentrated and does not positively impact the entire body of water to the extent of linear aeration using Bubble Tubing, beyond creating waves and frothing water. Plus, many discs are often needed to effectively aerate shallow areas adding to expense and tubing runs.

In shallow ponds, diffuser discs or multiple disc assemblies create minimal overall circulation because the bubbles are concentrated in a small area. Bubble Tubing changes all that!

Concentrated rising bubbles from disc diffusers cause localized frothing over the discs yet leave other areas stagnant, un-aerated and non-mixed.

To order or for more information call 450-243-0976 Monday to Friday between 9am and 5 PM Eastern Standard Time.

Bubble Tubing is also ideal for use as a dock de-icer
